Judges
JUDY HIGHAM
Judy bought her first SLR in the late 80’s, initially using the easiest “Point & Shoot” features. A photography course challenged her to think about camera control and image content. Her favorite camera is a 4x5 Linhof. She also enjoys her digital camera and using the many filters in Photoshop. Her photographic interests include in portraiture, still life, and macro.
Judy joined the Lions Gate Camera Club in 2003 and is also a member of the Burnaby Photographic Society and the Pacific Digital Club. She is currently CAPA Club Services Chair and a District Rep in the Pacific Zone as well as Director of Competitions for CAPA National.
RUSS KWAN
WENDY KWAN
Russ and Wendy Kwan are fine art photographers currently working in traditional black and white processes. They photograph and work in film, digital and hybrid media.
Russ and Wendy's award-winning work has been exhibited in solo commercial and academic venues in North America and has been published in feature various photographic magazines.. Their book, "Chasing Light Stranger", is catalogued in the reference library of the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography. Their work is held in public and private collections worldwide.
In 2009 Russ and Wendy started their own small group Fine Art Photography Courses, which focus on assisting students to develop their own vision for their personal photographic work. Russ and Wendy are continually inspired by the dedication of their students and enjoy seeing the way each one progresses, as they create work that expresses their unique voice.
SHEENA WILKIE
Sheena has been a professional photographer for seven years and operates Sheena Studios in Surrey. She has taught photography and creative software courses at BCIT and now teaches photography-related courses through her own Photo Gurus venture. She creates advanced slideshows for the RCMP and the Surrey Foundation. She is the official photographer for the Surrey Food Bank. Sheena is the
Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Camera magazine, a CAPA judge and a founding member of the Surrey Photographic Club.
