I received my first camera, a Pentax K1000 on my 16th birthday. Like many others I dreamed of becoming a photo journalist, traveling around the world, shooting for National Geographic. Well, life set in and I was caught up in the job of living, working and raising my daughter alone. To date I have been experimenting with a bit of commercial, product and journalist type photography. I also have 10 years PhotoShop experience working on both personal and professional projects.

Stubbornly holding out as long as I could with film, I finally gave in to the digital age and purchased my first of 2 digital SLRs (Pentax k100 Super and a Pentax k10). I’ve recently been experimenting with an older video camera and have purchased a water proof digital (Pentax W80) to build a helmet cam for kayaking.

I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up (photo journalist, artist) but will be working to hone my skills, and hopefully, some day become published.
