I received my first camera, a Pentax K1000 on my 16th birthday. Like many others I dreamed of becoming a photo journalist, traveling around the world, shooting for National Geographic. Well, life set in and I was caught up in the job of living, working and raising my daughter so the dream was put on hold with only a tiny bit of commercial and product shooting under my belt. Stubbornly holding out as long as I could with film, I finally gave in to the digital age and purchased my first digital SLR almost a year ago. I’m still not sure what I want to be when I grow up (photo journalist, artist) but will be working to hone my skills, and hopefully, some day become published.
