Our guest this month is Ron Long. Ron has been involved in photography for well over 30 years. Until his recent retirement, he worked as a photographer for Simon Fraser University. He has taught many classes and led many workshops, both locally and in other locations. When he comes this month, he will talk about traveling with digital photo gear and his trip to Death Valley.

3. Congrats!
At last week's PPABC (Professional Photographers Association of BC), two of our members were recognized. Rianna Stackhouse and Deborah DeVille each received recognition for three images. Way to go!
Celebration of Nature
The Lions Gate Camera Club hosted this competition in the Fall. The Langley Camera Club earned third place and we have a large ribbon to show for it. Also, Glen Newby receives a third place ribbon for his photo, "Aspen Grove".
4. Welcome
We have two new members that have signed up in the past while. Please greet, welcome and get to know, Daryl Wilson and Glen Mackenzie. Welcome, Glen and Daryl!
5. Inspiration
Darwin Wiggett, well known Canadian photographer and contributor to Outdoor Photography Canada (my absolute favorite magazine), recently said that the two main things he looks for in his images are light and simplicity. Check out this photo, a grand prize winner from another Canadian photographer, whose image illustrates very well what Darwin was saying.
